PRACTICE STAFF
PRACTICE MANAGER
Our practice manager Mrs Jayita Biswas is responsible
for the day-to-day management of the surgeries and will deal with any problems
concerning the practice. She will be happy to discuss any suggestions about the
service we offer.
RECEPTION
STAFF
Our experienced receptionists will assist
you in making routine and emergency appointments, undertake repeat prescriptions
and help you in any way they can. They will treat patient information in the strictest
confidence. We hope you will remember that the receptionists have a difficult
and busy job and have to assess the degree of urgency and prioritise accordingly.
NURSE
PRACTITIONER
Our nurse practitioner, Fiona Yardley NP BSc(Hons) RGN
RN, has had clinical training in physical examination and health assessment and
can diagnose and treat common health problems. She is also involved in asthma
and diabetic monitoring, health promotion as well as general nursing duties.
PRACTICE
NURSES
Our practice
nurses deal with immunisations, vaccinations, cervical
screening, family planning, ear syringing and dressings. They are also involved
in asthma and diabetic monitoring and health promotion.
HEALTH
CARE ASSISTANT
We have a health care assistant, Ann Hogan,
who deals with new patient checks and is able to undertake routine blood pressure
checks and give lifestyle advice. Appointments can be made at reception.
DISTRICT
NURSES
The district nurses provide nursing
care at home to patients in the community. These include those recently
discharged from hospital and the housebound. Visits are arranged by your GP.
HEALTH
VISITORS
The health visitors attached to the practice work mainly
with expectant parents and families with children under five years. The focus
of their role is infant and child health issues, growth and developmental assessment,
immunisations, parenting and behavioural problems, children with special needs
and child protection. Appointments are made by our receptionists.
TEACHING
We are a training practice and on occasions we will
have GP Registrars and medical students sitting in at the clinics. Confidentiality
is maintained, but if you would rather not have a trainee in attendance please
let the receptionist know.
Already fully qualified doctors, GP Registrars are attached to us for 12 months
to learn about general practice.
